In today's blog, we'll go through all of the shipping options available on AliExpress, our favorite Chinese purchasing platform.
We'll compare them all and tell you which is the best delivery option for each case.
At the end of this blog, we'll try to clear up some of the most prevalent questions concerning AliExpress shipping.
The cost of shipping on AliExpress varies depending on the seller, the product, and your location. In general, however, you can expect to pay anywhere from $0.99 for basic shipping to $9.99 for expedited shipping.
If you're looking for free shipping, be sure to check out the "Free Shipping" filter on AliExpress' search page. Keep in mind that even if a product is listed as "Free Shipping," you may still have to pay import duties and taxes upon delivery; more on that below.
Depending on the seller and the type of shipping you select, your order can take anywhere from 10 days to 6 weeks to arrive. That said, most orders arrive within 2-4 weeks.
If you need your order by a certain date, we recommend selecting an expedited shipping option at checkout. For example, DHL Express typically delivers orders within 3-5 days.
Just be sure to factor in the cost of expedited shipping when budgeting for your purchase.
When shopping on AliExpress, it's important to keep in mind that you may have to pay import duties and taxes upon delivery. These fees are calculated based on the value of your order and vary by country.
In some cases, you may be able to avoid paying import duties and taxes by selecting a lower-priced shipping option (e.g., "Economic Air Mail" vs "Standard Shipping"), but this is not always possible or effective.
For more information on import duties and taxes, we recommend contacting your local customs office before placing an order on AliExpress.
There are three forms of shipping that you should become acquainted with right away:
Ordinary shipments.
Certified shipments.
Shipments through private courier.
This sort of transportation is relatively inexpensive and is typically used for things costing less than $5.
Ordinary shipments do not have tracking once they leave China, so not being able to manage them or know when the letter carrier will deliver them is a disadvantage.
It is not necessary to sign for ordinary cargo to be delivered; the courier will usually leave it right in the mailbox. If it fits in your mailbox, they will leave a notification for you to pick it up at your nearest post office.
An average shipment's tracking number is made up of a series of digits (without letters).

Certified packages are always trackable. Knowing when the shipment will come and being informed of it is really useful.
Furthermore, you or someone at home will be required to sign for it.
It's most frequent in orders above $5, although it may also be seen in low-cost goods (the offer will depend on the seller and their shipping methods).
Although many people assume it, certified shipments are not always faster than regular ones. This is determined by the shipping method. However, we shall see several examples of this later.
These shipments are typically not free (in fact, they are rather expensive) and are handled by private businesses such as UPS, EMS, DHL, or AliExpress itself through its AliExpress Premium Shipping.
Previously, we did not encourage this kind of shipping since private courier packages were always halted at customs to recover taxes and charges.
However, as of July 1, 2021, this difficulty will be eliminated because AliExpress will no longer charge VAT on purchases under €150, and your delivery will no longer be held up by customs.
The drawback of these shipments is that they are generally expensive. Unless it's an extremely costly item, it's unusual to find them for free.
Your order will always be delivered to the delivery location you choose on AliExpress (your house or any other address you specify), implying that AliExpress delivers to your door.
Forget about entering your city's post office address so that the order reaches there (you run the risk that the package will be returned to the seller).
It varies by nation, but if the mail carrier does not locate someone at home on the initial delivery attempt, he will typically try again the next working day.
Remember that if your order status shows 'arrival at the delivery office,' you cannot go to the post office to pick up your parcel since they will not release it to you.
Before you may pick it up at your local post office, you must always wait for the mail carrier to make two delivery attempts.
If the package is tiny and fits in the mailbox, the letter carrier will leave it there. If it doesn't fit, he'll leave you a note to come to pick it up.
For private courier packages, the letter carrier will call you on the first try to organize a fresh delivery or give you the option of going immediately to the office to pick it up.
As one of the world's most popular online marketplaces, AliExpress offers shoppers unbeatable prices on millions of products from thousands of sellers worldwide. But how doesAliExpress shipping work? And how much does it cost? In general, you can expect to pay anywhere from $0.99 for basic shipping to $9.99 for expedited shipping; however, delivery times vary depending on the seller and type of shipping selected, with most orders arriving within 2-4 weeks. Import duties and taxes may also apply upon delivery; for more information on import duties and taxes, contact your local customs office before placing an order on AliExpress.
